Sao Paulo, Brazil – three dudes run a print shop with a 1929 German letterpress using handmade wooden characters. I’d love to have a simple enough life to enjoy my work as they do. And you just don’t see this level of personality in print jobs now, it’s all you send it off, you get it back finished. You can’t see the imperfections like you do in your own work, to me getting it back with that little bit of uncertainty of how it’s going to be makes it all worth it.

In other news: Trying to put together your all time top-5 karaoke songs is pretty fucking tough. I’d love to put California Love in there but I don’t think the poor Japanese people will be able to keep up with my inherrent rapping finese… And anyone who does Mustang Sally – fuck you. I fucking hate that song.

I grew up watching shows like Mr. Squiggle and Art Attack and you know, cool shit like that. That and having an artist for a mother, I drew alot. And even after all this time, sketchin’ is the best way to pass that time, whether it be hours in airport terminals (my #1 pick) the bus station, toilet, while you’re meant to be working…Whatever. just scribble shit. See what you get after a few months. After going through a few tonight, I’ve found some random stuff, from shit talking dialogue to runs of smurf-like things doing the macarena step by step, or mushrooms fucking, typeface designs… You get the idea.
Partied hard this weekend with JDM, good shit. Gotta hold on the parties till we’re in Japan. 5 days and counting..!
NYC cheat sheets

This is a somewhat quirky one. Everyone regardless of their city of choice has a few little tricks up their sleeves to make things easier during day to day life, whether it be a shortcut through to the exit at ikea, or that cafe’ that is strategically positioned for that first latte’ of the day, we all have them. One certain NY’er has taken his daily city ins & outs and visualized them with these cue-cards and given little blurbs about each one, a pretty brightening read which opens the eyes into our daily actions and the reasons behind them…

While going through one of the many old external HDD’s littered around my abode, i found this piece, done in i think, mid-2006 or so for the whole (now defunct) ‘capitalism’ project. It was a pretty period specific part, right around the time i just sorta broke into digital media somewhat ‘properly’. It was about a 4-foot x 4-foot double layered paste (done within illustrator (CS2, no less!) which was meant for a high profile white wall somewhere but the ‘collective’ fell apart quicker than week old fetta cheese.
I’m gonna dig up some more older shit to post, i’ve got heaps.
It’s also the last day of this working week for all you 9-5′ers. kick back with a tall-boy and watch the sunset on the beach somewhere, don’t waste those days, kids.

I’m enthralled by this site. a visual agency. their site is a pioneering point in web development really. Some real next-gen shit going on. Check out the Audi commercials especially.
