AMIGOS OF DAVE
January 21, 2010
Truly humble people in this world are a rarity. Its not every morning or night you come across someone who can put another being in front of themselves and not request anything in return or feeling like anyone owes them something.
Friends and brothers Dave & Daniel Montoya are two of the people I can call truly humble. They have been on a journey to the United States to seek alternative treatment for Dave, whom in 2008 was diagnosed with a deep brain tumor- Anaplastic Oligoastrocytoma, located in the right lateral ventricle.
This as shocking as it was, I have never, and still do not doubt Dave’s ability to beat his condition and to continue to be a source of laughter, organic food hideouts and amazing photography.
I would rather not put words into peoples mouths, and urge to please visit the Amigos of Dave page and learn about Dave’s conditions and their journey and donate if you can.

I grew up watching shows like Mr. Squiggle and Art Attack and you know, cool shit like that. That and having an artist for a mother, I drew alot. And even after all this time, sketchin’ is the best way to pass that time, whether it be hours in airport terminals (my #1 pick) the bus station, toilet, while you’re meant to be working…Whatever. just scribble shit. See what you get after a few months. After going through a few tonight, I’ve found some random stuff, from shit talking dialogue to runs of smurf-like things doing the macarena step by step, or mushrooms fucking, typeface designs… You get the idea.
Partied hard this weekend with JDM, good shit. Gotta hold on the parties till we’re in Japan. 5 days and counting..!

A saturated Saturday night saw Brett & I make a mountainous trip in a slower than-snail paced vehicle up steep winding roads westward of the metropolis. esky in tow, Riccadonna & beer was the cargo barely sloshing from the lack of speed traveled up what was once no doubt a goat track though is now paved and nothing but a haven for hooligan speedsters. We breeze in the door (not that there was one) and noticed the requiem of laid back vibes and ‘not giving a shit’ were prevalent with alot of the town members and familiar faces showing their faces for a yarn over live musical noise. Dan Parsons, Ruby Blue and Humpin’ ol bluey on the shit and did not disappoint. Cold beer lept from the bar all night, and at one point a sweaty combination of pals emerged and the reggae music ramped up a notch. All downhill from there. Stress not invited. Thanks to MB for the invite & the hard yards of throwing such a party. will attend again, witt-out doubt, mang.
Also, watch THIS. Ty Morrow. legit status. (Note: I can’t embed it yet with WordPress – shit.)
Track: The Hombres – Let it all hang out
Tomorrow, we work. Today, we party.

Adelaide was alot of work at first, but alot of fun thanks to a few, but one person in particular. ‘hostess with the mostest’ springs to the brains. She’s the best ever, really. Miss T!
